NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN-IGNITE YOUR PASSION, KINDLE YOUR INNER SPARK

Posted on by Gaye Mack in Balance, Karmic and Self-Discovery Astrology, Worth the Read, Writer's Work 2 Comments

Today’s New Moon lands in Capricorn, the sign of Sea-Goat; a perfect placement for the beginning of a new year!  Capricorn’s evolutionary goal in this life is to attain internal approval through  public roles that reflect personal values, interests and even quirks, no matter what.  I say ‘perfect’ as the energy behind new moons are always about endings and new beginnings, so with this strong energy of Capricorn at your back what could be better to rocket you onto new horizons?  As always, the circumstances within which such opportunities have  potential depend on where Capricorn is in your birth chart and by transit.  Secondly, new beginnings require that you participate…the Universe provides the opportunities and potential but as evolutionary astrology is about ‘free will’, it’s up to us to step through the door and show up!

For many of us, making choices is more easily said than done.  Nevertheless, as I’ve noted in prior postings, particularly relating to Dr. Bach’s flower remedies, ‘help is on the way.’  Such help for you may be found in a newly released Kindle book, IGNITE YOUR PASSION, KINDLE YOUR INNER SPARK.  ‘Ignite Your Passion’ is an anthology of 24 contributing authors(myself included), from various backgrounds and professions who’ve written on the subject of finding their own passion and how you can do the same.

Between now and Monday, January 14th, the download version is FREE (possessing an E-Reader is not necessary; simply download the ‘free’ Kindle app to your computer or smartphone, then download the book from the link here)after which time the E-book version will remain available on Amazon with the soft bound edition due for release in March. As I write this post, ‘Ignite’ is currently ranked as the #1 Kindle download in the category of Creativity and #2 in Self-Esteem; the over-all ranking is currently #1214.

In order to give you a taste of what you might find(and discover about yourself!)  my interview with co-author, April Williams of CyberLife Tutors regarding my contribution follows.  In the spirit of Capricorn’s New Moon energy, I wish you much success in whatever new path you choose to travel!

CyberLife Tutors: You are a co-author of “Ignite Your Passion Kindle Your Internal Spark. “What is it that you are passionate about?
Gaye Mack: Throughout my younger and later adult years, my life has been influenced by a variety of passions. Some have been transitory; others have firmly remained as I’ve grown older. If I were to identify the one ‘umbrella’ passion it would be exploration of those things that exist beyond our five senses and how we’re affected by them as spirit in body. The pathways of my explorations have been varied; interest in cultures around the world, their spiritual and ancient healing traditions, experiencing them first hand and, always writing, writing, writing.

CyberLife Tutors: Why did you contribute this specific story to “Ignite Your Passion Kindle Your Internal Spark?”
Gaye Mack: If I’ve learned nothing else (but that’s not to say I always ‘listen to my own lectures’ as a friend of mine is fond of quoting), it’s the importance of trusting our gut, intuition, whatever term is comfortable for you. Listening to our soul’s wisdom is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves this lifetime on our evolutionary path and it’s not easy because our ego always wants to be in charge. I felt it was important to share my own experience with this lesson and the rocky road I traveled to ‘get it’ (and still am!) in my own life.

CyberLife Tutors: Is this your first published book? If not, what other books have you published?
Gaye Mack: No. As I mention in my story, Polair Publishing- London, has published my books, Igniting Soul Fire, Spiritual Dimensions of the Bach Flower Remedies (available in Kindle & softbound editions) and Making Complementary Therapies Work for You (which has been translated into German). I’m also a contributing author along with Donald Neale Walsh, Irvin Laszlo and other spiritual pioneers, to The View~Mind Over Matter, Heart Over Mind from Conan Doyle to Conversations with God.”

CyberLife Tutors: What else would you to share with our readers?
Gaye Mack: Currently I have two 12th century historical mysteries represented by my literary agent, Peter Miller of Global Lion Intellectual Property Management with the goal of obtaining a contract with one of the traditional houses, as I work on the third book in this series. I’m also working on a sequel toIgniting Soul Fire, Spiritual Dimensions of the Bach Flower Remedies, which looks at the connection between Dr. Edward Bach’s Twelve Healers and the evolutionary karmic story in our astrological birth chart.

CyberLife Tutors: You have a special offer for our readers?

Gaye Mack: As an active practitioner and teacher in the Bach flower remedies, I do see people privately for evaluation sessions regarding the flower remedies. For those who are also interested in astrology as well, sessions may include some integration with this tradition; it’s always up to the client. For more complete information on my Bach work, its best to look at my website or blog.

CyberLife Tutors: How can our readers contact you?
Gaye Mack: Find me on my website, blog, Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. Email me at gayemack at gayemack.com

WHEN THE SUN MOVES INTO LEO, LIONS MAY NEED EDWARD BACH’S ELM AND VERVAIN REMEDIES FOR EVOLUTIONARY BALANCE

Posted on by Gaye Mack in Balance, Karmic and Self-Discovery Astrology Leave a comment

On July 22nd, the summer sun left the quiet, nurturing sign of Cancer,  and roared into the fire sign of Leo.  No doubt about it, nothing is quiet about this sign.  Jupiter may be the king of planets, but Leo is royalty in the zodiac and like royalty, all things are about ‘expression’.  Where Cancer prefers involution, Leo thrives on evolution… “All the world’s a stage” for The Lion.  Like its feline counterparts, Leos like to preen, be seen AND HEARD! And, because this sign rules the zodiacal 5th house of ‘creativity’ (among a few other things), there’s an innate flair for dazzling drama other signs can only sigh and fantasize about (well there are a few exceptions about the fantasy thing, which I’ll leave for you to speculate on!)

Like all astrological  signs, Leo has a shadow side that can get in the way of its soul evolution.  In the body, Leo traditionally rules the heart, blood and cardiac system.  Typically those born under a well aspected Leo sun have big hearts but never doubt that they need to shine.  In evolutional astrology, the Leo sun is here to develop personality and ego, but there can be predictable bumps along this path.

Leo is a ‘fixed sign’ like Taurus and Aquarius.  Despite the lion’s endearing enthusiasm for ‘going big’, he or she, can become zealous, overbearing, over the top, intense and prideful along the way.  And, they can easily take on too much, more than they can handle and in the end,  burn themselves out.  When Leo moves into any of these energies, Dr. Edward Bach’s flower remedies, Elm and Vervain, immediately come to mind as resources for getting the lion back on track.

Elm is typically regarded as a ‘temporary’ mood state (which is why it’s another remedy I have in the big bottle on my desk!).  “Overwhelmed Elm” succinctly describes the mood, which is one that overachieves, takes on way too much and then hits the wall.  The action of the Elm remedy is one that shifts the perception of everything being ‘priority’ to one of prioritizing in the very ‘Capricornian’ manner of one foot in front of the other; chop wood, carry water.

As one of Dr. Bach’s original ‘Twelve Healers, the energy of Vervain is both a mood state and a soul type.  Vervain is all about ‘over enthusiasm’ fighting for the underdog, seeing the ‘right’ in all things.  Vervain is ‘heart centered’, but like the well meaning Leos, when this soul type or the temporary mood state moves into its negative or shadow energy, it becomes intense, zealous and can be intolerant.  The beauty of this remedy is that its energy brings these shadow behaviors into balance, particularly regarding tolerance so that the soul can come through, bringing harmony to the Leo’s heart with evolutionary intent.

DR. BACH’S ANTIDOTES FOR AFTER SHOCKS OF PLUTO’S EXACT HIT ON URANUS

Posted on by Gaye Mack in Balance, Karmic and Self-Discovery Astrology Leave a comment

While it may seem that there’s overkill chat regarding the Pluto/Uranus square and the first of seven exact hits this past Sunday, the reality is… not really.  Or, put another way to coin a phrase, ‘it’s never enough’.  Globally and on all levels, all of us are going to be living with this energy as it builds and wanes, builds and wanes until the final of the seven exact hits occurs March, 2015.

How and where this energy is affecting us personally as we navigate this passage is and will be very individual.  Outwardly we’re already witnessing its effects in Mother Nature’s rage environmentally along with the struggle for political change around the globe.

As I’ve mentioned previously, Pluto is currently in Capricorn where its mission is to break  up and eliminate those things and structures that no longer serve.  On the other end of the square, Uranus is sitting in Aries where as a restless rebel, it’s  full of aggression.

Thus, this circumstance begs the question, what can we call upon to calm our own turbulent waters of emotion so that we may respond with clear vision and action to the environment around us?

As I wrote in Igniting Soul Fire, Spiritual Dimensions of the Bach Flower Remedies, Dr. Edward Bach did explore the subject of astrology as it related to his 38 Bach Flower Remedies.  Nevertheless, in his writings which are scant, he admits to stepping away from his theories of such connections because,  ‘one wants to be sure’.  However in Igniting, I speculate that while he made this statement publicly, privately I find it hard to believe that he did so; he was too esoteric in his philosophy and explorations.  Perhaps he felt the time wasn’t quite right for such speculation and therefore decided to leave it to others who would follow him.

Without delving too deeply into the whys and wherefores through the astrological lens, I offer these interpretations with remedy suggestions as a starting point for calming the internal reactions that may be stirring up for you.

I begin with the reminder (again) that each of Bach’s 38 possesses multiple subtleties when it comes to choice consideration, similarly to the numerous contemplations an astrologer ruminates across when interpreting the planetary relationships in a chart.

This said, Bach’s remedy Mimulus is classically suggested for calming ‘worldly fears’.  In other words, whether it’s an ongoing phobia or situational fear, you KNOW what’s frightening you.  You can finish the sentence, “I’m afraid of…”  You can name it and it relates to the mundane of everyday life AND I add from an evolutional perspective, our past…in this life  as well as perhaps a prior life which carries karma that has now ripened to be dealt with.  With Pluto currently sitting in the sign of Capricorn, which is ruled by Saturn, there’s an energetic theme that demands we dig deep (Pluto) in order to  come face to face with long-denied fears (Saturn) and thus claim our power through transformation (Pluto).

Among Mimulus’ attributes is the energy of courage; here there’s no coincidence, for ‘courage’ is a positive characteristic of the warrior planet Mars… which rules the sign of Aries… right where Uranus the rebel, is currently sitting! However, when Aries isn’t balanced it becomes (among other unattractive attributes), impatient! Happily, there is a remedy for this and it’s Bach’s Impatiens which also happens to be in his famous combination, Rescue Remedy.

Thus, we have two initial remedies capable of supporting us through the challenges ahead.  For directions on how to use them in combination as well as other information on flower remedies, please refer to my website:  http://www.gayemack.com

LIBRA’S NEW MOON URGES BALANCE, PUTTING US ON NOTICE THAT BUSINESS AS USUAL IS NO LONGER AN OPTION

Posted on by Gaye Mack in Karmic and Self-Discovery Astrology Leave a comment

While new moons always portend a push for new beginnings and growth, this particular new moon is packed with messages and energy!  Libra, the 7th sign of the zodiac with its glyph of scales symbolizes harmony, peace, love and beauty in our relationships and environment. However this new moon also comes in as a ‘super-moon’, the 4th of 6 we’ll have this year.  Super-moons happen when the moon is closest to the earth in either new or full expression, intensifying the gravitational pull on our emotions and our planet.  As a result, the energy of whatever other planets are acutely involved in the configuration of a new moon is magnified.

For this Moon, Mercury, the messenger of the gods, is sitting next to it, suggesting that we need to think about what’s out of balance— but this is only part of the story.  The Moon/Sun/Mercury are directly involved in the on-going Uranus/Pluto square.  For a few days, all three oppose Uranus in Aries, the planet of revolution, bringing an intensity to the concept of evolution.  In what ways do we need to think and act out of the box to move forward in a positive way?

Additionally, all three are squaring Pluto in Capricorn, which supports transformation in a way that is stable and sustainable.  There’s a lot of pressure for change in this complete configuration; the Moon/Sun/Mercury opposing Uranus in Aries and squaring Pluto in Capricorn produces a ‘T-Square’ of high and intense energy.  Squares are turning points and tend to represent internal process; oppositions can represent external process.

The circumstances of life in which this configuration takes place for each of us depends on the houses involved in our charts.  Never-the-less, no matter which ones they are, we’re all being called to seriously consider a course correction in our thinking and actions.  In other words, business as usual is no longer an option.

FIVE MONTHS LATER, PLUTO IS FINALLY GOING DIRECT GIVING US THE GREEN LIGHT TO MOVE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER

Posted on by Gaye Mack in Karmic and Self-Discovery Astrology Leave a comment

Pluto always seems to get a bad rap and that’s before its status as a bonafide planet was brought into question.  Over the years I’ve heard the following phrases to describe a Pluto transit through a chart: “the cosmic 2×4” or “the cosmic enema”…either way, the message reads  “if you don’t clean it (whatever ‘it’ is)  up, Pluto will do it for you; Pluto takes no prisoners.” On Friday, Pluto halted it’s retrograde motion that began back in April.  Now stationing for a bit before it moves forward, Pluto’s energy will be intense and direct, making sure we get its message.

The energy of this planet is all about truth, power and transformation…urging us to dive down into the depths of the innermost ‘knowing’ of ourselves.  It’s  an opportunity to become students in learning  the art of discernment, what is real? What is fantasy?  Where have we been deluding ourselves?   As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, when a planet shifts into retrograde motion (‘appearing’ to move backwards in the sky), we’re encouraged to go inward, to evaluate how the particular planet’s energy is playing out in our chart and in our lives…where do we need to make adjustments?  This message is particularly true of Pluto…learning the art of course correction for our greatest good, our destiny.

Currently, Pluto is in Capricorn, the sign that wants to be effective through practicality, self-sufficiency, stability.  Whichever house Pluto is currently poised in your chart will give you clues about your particular task.  Sixth house?  Could be your daily work, health, skill set; ninth house?  Might be education, your philosophy or your over-optimism that needs a reality check!

If we haven’t plugged in, Pluto will make sure we do.  Unfortunately (or fortunately) this usually comes in the form of an outward, material manifestation that reflects the significance of blowing Pluto’s message off.  While this is often tough going when we’re ‘in it’, down the road we can come to realize that the experience was a life saver.
